Your Hobbies?
So to keep this section of our forums alive.. What sort of stuff do you do apart from playing the ps3?
I'm now skateboarding, getting quite good at it now
I Push trials bike, which is great fun
Just got some c02 capsules [finally, <3 Ebay] for my walther so I've also been doing some target shooting in the back garden
Thats it for me really now, how about you guys?

Re: Your Hobbies?
When I'm not at work I spend time reading and walking; really exciting I know!
I used to do a lot of modelling when I was younger but don't seem to have the time anymore. Used to do a lot of MTBing too but my knee isn't up to cycling anymore! (feel like a right old grandad after reading this back!)

Re: Your Hobbies?
Good idea! I use to have a walther sport and used it in the backyard as well, sold as I found the trigger too hard. I now have a crossman 357 with a 8 inch barrel. It is a great gun that I never have the time to use.
I use to be in to chess, pool, ten pin bowling, hockey, clubbing, and motorcycling, but now that I am married with a kid and another is on the way!, I dont have so much time so ps3 is just a good default for 45 min of unwind time after a long work day (this is why games that dont get to the point frustrate me).
The other thing I am getting into is understanding and becoming more independent with personal finance. I have always had an advisor, but I would like to know enough to do it on my own - low cost index funds. I would also like to start to play around with stocks on a small scale (~$100 at a go) and learn from my expected losses.
I also have an electric traxxas stampede RC, I am not too sure how big RC is with you guys but it is gaining popularity. I like to mod them out and take them off some sweet jumps
Lastly, is we have a pretty big yard so lots of outside work, it was funny on thursday as i was waiting for the store to update I went outside and raked leaves then i came in bought the games and tried out penny arcade and then in the game i was raking leaves, so i quit and played cod4

Re: Your Hobbies?
I see what you mean exactly, the trigger you have to pull all the way back, and i mean All.
Really annoying, but satisfying
wow, A nice mixture of sports there man
I reckon RC is not as popular over here really. A few friends have them but petrol ones. my mate had this monster truck one, forgotten the name. But dang it flew up those dirts jumps!
haha, that raking business made me laugh. I love it when weird things like that happen!

Re: Your Hobbies?
I used to box alot, like 3 or 4 times a week, then the place that i boxed lost its licence to train under 18s, so i stopped. Now i dont really do much apart from skiing(which i love),and going to the gym. I do however go clay pigeon shooting once or twice a month which isnt too bad, 75% hit rate FTW
might start up again next year when im 18 but the chances are i wont have enough time and im happy enough at the gym i go to atm.

Re: Your Hobbies?
I've always fancied trying clay pigeon shooting but never found the time to try it. Is it expensive? How much did your shotgun cost?
Tbh I'd probably be lame, should stick to CoD as I'm a good shot on there!

Re: Your Hobbies?
wow ben, I never knew you did that.
looks like im going to have quit picking on you and your broken xbox 360. your laugh is amazing though
clay pigeon shooting looks good. But I would feel very immature doing it when you usually see classic british men in their 60's with a glass of whiskey and a cigar doing it.

This is really funny. It brings all the british stereotypes together in one image for me -

Re: Your Hobbies?
lol thats what I was going for. Was going to opt for the cup of tea but would be too impractical. ha
Re: Your Hobbies?
i dont go enough to want to buy my own gun. one of my mams friends goes alot, and i go with him whenever i can and use his gun or rent one when im there. Theres not that many old men doing it. they are all around 30, but there is older and younger people who go. Youd be surprised at how accurate shotguns can be, ive seen some people shoot targets at a really really long distance witha dubble barrel

Re: Your Hobbies?
I can imagine they are accurate. what with the large spread of the ball bearings and the long barrel.
Re: Your Hobbies?
in real life, a shotgun can shoot alot further than what depicted on cod4, i was really surprised by what some people could shoot.
