movies on the ps3

Have you guys ever tried using a website that has instant movies, on your ps3. I think one of the sites is tversity or something, I saw a thread on ps3forums before but didnt totally understand it. I DL most movie torrents and then burn and watch them but it would be cool if I could just watch them straight on the ps3.

Yeh I've used it too. but not tversity as it confused me ha.
I used windows media player and used that to stream it upstairs. Or there is the google program too.
It's pretty good. If I don't use that though I just put it on my flash drive and stick it in the ps3 . easier for me anyway

I just use a memory stick and transfer downloaded torrents, havent tried streaming yet, might give it a go some night.

Wow, so you can just put an .avi file one a flash drive and the ps3 will just play it? If so that would be awesome! Sorry, this is one area that I have not really figured out yet and I want to as I just put in a 320 gb hd.

Yeh the ps3 will just simply play it. You'll have to press triangle on your media device though and press "display all" as you'll probably already know?

im ahppy with my 40gb at the moment, i dont really put music on it because you cant play music in-game, and i only have like 4 or 5 movies on.

Should be getting my HDD by tuesday so it says on the ebuyer.com invoice but i reckon I will get it earlier. With any hope! Then my ps3 will be movies galore.
Just wondering BMF but what type of internet speed do you get over there in canada? Like some americans can get 20mb and in excess of.

Cool site! Here at work I got 11MB down and 17mb up. At home the fastest I remember is ~700kb/sec when I was DLing some torrents. Not sure what I would get on the test though, I will try it later.

my internet is really bad. Im gonna move from orange cos i hate them so much. I rarely get more than 1mb lately

I am 5 MB down and 1 MB up. That is good enough for me.

I tried the movies on the flash stick and it worked, but you were right it didnt show up so I had to hit triangle - wierd! I think you can also do movies through the router and internet cable but it really has not worked for me, some things show up and others dont.

in the flash drive you have to create a folder called "movies" and put the films in there and they show up straight away without having to go through the flash drive to find it.

Other than putting music, movies, and photos on you ps3, is there any other cool stuff you can do with it? Sounds funny, but I bet many ps3 are only used for games as many of the other features are overlooked.

I tried surfing the net but it did not work too well, some sites did not come up properly and so on. For example www.gametrailers.com would not work but youtube does. I did go to a ps3 themes site and DL some cool themes though, I always go back to the original, it is hard to beat it.

yeh. My sister and her husband usually just use it to play on buzz, singstar and metal gear solid 4 now and again but don't take advantage of the music player and video player etc.
I haven't found anything too good on it yet. but that life with playstation would be alot cooler if they had more cities. I mean, who wasnts to know about london when you live up north! lol

I only really use my ps3 for games and movies. Dont need it for anything else.

Yeah I hope life gets better, all the temps are in F, we use C! And the news is not regional enough. All well, better than nothing I guess.

your post sounded weird when i read the first line, then read about news and realised you were talkin about playstation life. I only looked at it once and didnt seem to like it that much, i would much rather watch news on t.v and just get the latest most important news.

BMF you can change the temperature in the settings! I think its triangle not START. But I know you can change it as it was also weird for me lol

Na i just use pc too watch movies and stuff i wish i had more then 20gb a month so i can download all the movies i wanted.

lol, ide hate a download limit, im always downloading music and films.

I have a 20 GB limit as well, but I play hard ball with the company and always go way over, I ask them if I am going to get money back for the months that I am under 20 gb and then I say I could take my business else where, and to chill out that this was just a big month and next month will be better.

One time I phoned them to give them a heads up that I was going to be way over and that they should not do anything or I would get pissed an go somewhere else!

I just download what i want and dont have to argue with the company

I don't really download much due to my lack of hard drive space on my computer.
2 hard drives and they each have only 3gb left Sucks proper bad

I have so many HDDs full of garbage! I've got plies of them all over the place. I am big into Dreamcast and have been since they came out. I've got every game that was ever released in UK/EU/US and JPN as well as all the emulators and homebrew games/aps! Got about a 1000GB worth of DC stuff on a few HDDs! Got hundreds of GBs of NDS games and aps too. I used to download movies all the time and got Drives full of those and music too but I've just not been bothered for ages so nothing more recent than about 6 months ago though!
